Have you ever wondered what to do if you see animal abuse/neglect ? We can tell you ... For anything non-life threatening the public can email [email protected] ... They now have a team of 17 frontline officers who are specifically trained in animal abuse and neglect. They also work very close with the 4 Officers of the APA team at Animal Control and liaise with them on many investigations. If the matter is more urgent the public can call 911 (life or death) or 423 4567 for EPS’ non-emergency line when animal abuse is suspected. It can be scary when you see an animal in distress , but you can do something to make sure they are okay. They can’t speak so we have to speak for them . Thank you for doing that

Poor sweet Carley has had her adoption fall through twice now, through no fault of her own. Sadly they just decided not to adopt for such and such reason. Pinocchio Veralyn | Female | House panther (DSH) | Rescue Story: Just one of the many kittens born in need of a loving home.... Yes Especially cat friendly cats and proper introductions. I do need a youngish playful cat friendly cat in the home, or to be adopted with Pinocchio. Good with Kids? Unknown Maybe if they are gentle with me. Critter Twitter: I am playful girl that is curious about my surroundings. I enjoy running around with my siblings and lounging on the cat tree. I can sometimes be a lap cat but other times I just crash hard wherever I am, especially after I eat. #playfulgal About my Behaviour: I do require a home with another high energy cat friendly cat who will want to play with me. One who is no more than 6 years old so we can play for many years to come. Or I would have to be adopted with Sully. Dogs I would probably be scared of, at least for sure the big or medium sized dogs. Unsure about small calm dogs. Haven't met any kids but if they are gentle and will play with me, we might become best of friends. How’s my Health? I am fixed, up to date vaccines, micro-chipped and dewormed.

NELLIE is FOUND! After a tense few days , a lot of help from kind people everywhere and dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers following up on all the leads and setting up a feeding station and waiting with the patience of saints we have our Nellie back! With much online support (at least 8 of us) one wonderful volunteer on the ground (literally) and one doing fried chicken runs to keep Nellie in snacks - after two nights on the run - it took another hour plus to woo her in!!!! She is safe!

Zoe's cat 101 Did you know that cats live in the vertical world to? What this means is that cat shelves and cat trees are a great way to increase territory even if you live in a small apartment! The more cat territory they have the less fights and spraying there could be. Cat trees come in all shapes and sizes, you can even get custom made ones. If you have some old cat trees that is scratched up badly you don't have to throw them out. There are some who will fix them and even add to it. Unknown Maybe if they are gentle with me. Critter Twitter: I am one very outgoing kitten who loves to play and explore. I will fall asleep on you and I enjoy being petted. Of course, all on my time as playing and ensuring the kingdom is safe is a full time gig for a little kitten like me. #fulltimegig #blackbeauty About my Behaviour: I do require a home with another cat friendly cat who isn't a senior and will want to play with me. Otherwise I can be a bit of a pest and they won't be happy with me. What? I like to play! Another young cat in the home, preferably one who doesn't like attention (I can get jealous when others are being loved on) would be great! Or I would have to be adopted with Pinocchio. Dogs I would probably be scared of, at least for sure the big or medium sized dogs. Unsure about small calm dogs. I nor any other cat in the home can be free fed as I will eat it all, and their food. I LOVE food so must be on a regulated diet so I don't overeat or get overweight.

Aslan Green | Male | Domestic Floofer (DLH) | Rescue Story: I was an unowned stray no one claimed who was extremely scared and had an injury so Zoe's took me in and now i'm all ready to find my forever home!... Date of Birth: December 2018 Energy Level: Medium - High Size (adult): Medium Good with Dogs? Unknown Only cat friendly dogs who will give me my space if I request it. Good with Cats? Yes But only cat friendly cat with proper introductions and one who enjoys rough play with another cat. Good with Kids? Yes Especially if they are gentle with me. I do sometimes nibble on hands though so maybe older kids. Critter Twitter: I am one extremely talkative boy who loves my people and I do like the resident pets as well. I can be quite the lap cat but I also love to play still. Especially in the evening I get my zoomies on. I am such a love bug you will fall madly in love! #lovebug About my Behaviour: I would require proper introductions to resident pets and lots of kitty territory for me. I would also be ok as an only pet, though I would enjoy company and even a kitty playmate. I can play a bit rough with other cats though so they must be ok with that. I would love a sanctuary room to myself if possible, I was a bit territorial when I first came into care. But after being neutered ive been perfectly fine so it might have been because of hormones. I love people and am good with everyone I meet but I can get nippy during play time so young kids might not be ok with that. Playing me out with a wand toy in the evening seems to help combat that and ensure to never use your hands during play. How’s my Health? I am fully vetted. I should not be free fed as I LOVE food and will get fat. I would enjoy at least 3 meals a day though, I hear it's healthier for cats to.

There were too many of us kitties at that farm so we came to the city to find ourselves our very own home... Date of Birth: August 26, 2020 Energy Level: High Size (adult): Medium Good with Dogs? Unknown Never met one, so not sure. Good with Cats? Yes I have to be adopted with either a sibling, another kitten or have a playful youngish resident cat. Good with Kids? Unknown Only older kids if any, (10+). Critter Twitter: I am one stunning tortie! I love to zoom around with my siblings although they are sometimes too rough for me. I am a princess after all! I’m a snuggle puss who likes to find a spot on my foster mom and curl up after a good play session. #sweetie About my Behaviour: I have to be adopted with either a sibling, another kitten or have a playful youngish resident cat. One that is 6 years or under so we can play for 4 more years until I get lazy too. I do prefer other cats who would play gently with me so if you have a cat who does play gently I would be so stoked! Young kids I do not like at all, and older kids would have to be gentle with me. How’s my Health? I am spayed, up to date vaccines, micro-chipped and dewormed.

Kitten season is still going strong and we are at our limit for kitties.. again. And sadly many rescues are in the same boat. This is why it's so important to spay and neuter your cats! A litter of kittens is much more expensive than a spay in terms of costs for food and litter. Call around as all vets have different prices and some rescues have snr/tnr programs. Even call vets outside the city as sometimes their prices can be cheaper. We can at this time offer rescue rates b...ut, only at certain partner vets. If your cat already had kittens please do not give them away. Instead sell them for $40 to $50 each, and then use that money to spay the mom so no more kittens. The cost is to ensure people can afford a kitten and more importantly that it's not a rash decision as kittens are expensive and a 10+ year commitment. But also so you can then easily afford to spay mom.

Critter Twitter: I am one cutie pie who loves to play, especially with my siblings. We pounce on each other, chase each other, take turns destroying wand toys it's a blast! I love to cuddle, just like my other siblings and love climbing cat trees and people. I am super sweet and love to be on your lap, but namely I am a wild child who loves to play. Like all black house panthers should be! I still love to climb my fosters so I can get up on their shoulder to survey my kingdom. Can't wait to meet you! #housepanther About my Behaviour: I do require to be either adopted with a sibling or go to a home with another young high energy cat friend. It would be great if I could be adopted wit a sibling though, as we are also with one another. Not sure about those dog creatures.
